How to shape a mouthguard from SafeJawz

Equipment you need
- A SafeJawz mouthguard
- A kettle of boiling water
- A bowl of cold water
- Toothbrush or cup
- Towel
- Tongs or spoon to handle the mouthguard
Step-by-step guide
1. Prepare the water
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. When the water boils, remove the saucepan from the heat to avoid overexposing the mouthguard.
2. Heat up the mouthguard
Use tongs to carefully place the mouthguard into the hot water. Leave it in the water for 30-40 seconds, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. Watch for the mouthguard to start to soften, but not melt.
3. Remove the mouthguard
Remove the mouthguard with pliers and place it on a towel to cool it for a few seconds. This will prevent it from being too hot when placed in your mouth.
4. Shape the mouthguard into your mouth
Place the mouthguard in your mouth and place it over your teeth. Bite gently and use your fingers to press the mouthguard against your teeth and gums for a snug fit.
5. Adjust the fit
Hold the mouthguard in place for about 30 seconds while continuing to press with your fingers to ensure it molds around your teeth.
6. Cool the mouthguard
Remove the mouthguard from your mouth and place it in a bowl of cold water for 1 minute. This will cause the shape to harden and become firm.
Tips for a perfect result
- If the mouthguard does not fit perfectly the first time, you can repeat the process.
- Be careful not to bite too hard during the adjustment, as this may result in a poor fit.
- Clean the mouthguard after each use with soap and water to keep it hygienic.
With these simple steps, you are ready to protect your teeth in the best possible way!
