Karate Kumite competition suit with a normal cut.
Budo-Nord's competition set for "Kumite karate" follows the WKF regulations.
The same requirements for "Kumite Gi" have been set by several other traditional karate organizations and have therefore become a form of standard.
The jacket is a little longer than our "standard gi", the sleeves are long - all the way down to the hand and sometimes 1-2 cm up the hand.
The pants are long and reach to the ankle or slightly lower. Budo-Nord's kumite suits are made of lighter fabrics that should provide maximum freedom of movement and be as light as possible. Budo-Nord was probably the first to introduce kumite suits in functional microfiber fabric.
According to WKF regulations, an approved suit must be as follows:
- When the belt is fastened, the GI jacket must be at least long enough to go down over and cover the hip, but not reach further down than three-quarters of the thigh.
- The karate uniform jacket must be tied and must remain tied during the competition.
- Sleeves must not reach below the wrist or be shorter than covering half of the forearm or rolled up.
- The karate pants must cover at least two-thirds of the lower leg and must not go further down than the ankles.
- Trouser legs must not be rolled up.
